I’m Ghost and I Have a New Home!

Pit Bill terrier mix Ghost needs a home
Hi, I’m Ghost! Connecticut Humane Society

Ghost is an active one-year-old pit bull terrier. He has lived with a cat and young children, but we would now recommend an experienced adult home or home with older children. He’s a super sweet little guy, but he’s got enough energy to power the entire city. His new owners should be very active and ready to utilize obedience training to teach Ghost how to expend his energy in a positive way. Come give this guy the home he needs! Visit him at the Connecticut Humane Society in Westport!

I’m Shadow and I Have a New Family!

golden retriever Shadow needs a new home
Hi, I’m Shadow! Connecticut Humane Society

Shadow is a 9-year-old neutered Golden Retriever. An energetic spirit, Shadow came to the Humane Society because he kept escaping from his home. His owners could no longer safely contain him, so here he is! Shadow should be placed in a home with older children who will not let him out the front door. His new owners should be prepared to take him to obedience or seek assistance from a trainer and should be active to help him burn his energy in a positive way. Shadow does get along with other dogs. If you are interested in Shadow, please come to meet him at the Westport branch of the Connecticut Humane Society!

I’m Zachery and I Have a Family

Zachary the cat needs a new home
Hi, I’m Zachary! Connecticut Humane Society

Zachery is a wonderful neutered male. Affectionate and outgoing, he’s seeking a new home where he can lounge about on couches and beds and snuggle up to those he loves most. Zachery’s prior owners told us he gets along well with other cats but were unsure of his dog experience.  If you think this handsome, eye catching boy might be the one for you, come to meet him at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society!

Bunnies Need Homes Too – and We Found Ours

Bunnies are waiting for new homes
Hi, we’re Huey, Duey, & Luey Connecticut Humane Society

Huey, Duey, and Luey are three large black domestic rabbits that were found in someone’s backyard.

The three are people friendly and got along well with each other.

Unfortunately, because they are so large, they were separated when they came to CHS so each would have his own home, but they are now eager to find forever homes with new families.

All three can be handled, but for the most part they enjoy hopping about and inspecting their environment.

If you’re a rabbit lover, come to meet this trio (or any of the other wonderful bunnies) at the Westport branch of the Connecticut Humane Society!

I’m Bonnie and I Have a New Home!

terrier mix Bonnie needs a home
Hi, I’m Bonnie! Connecticut Humane Society

Bonnie is a young spayed female. After a rough start to life, Bonnie found her way to the CT Humane Society for a fresh start. Bonnie is an active girl who loves nothing more than exercise and affection. Bonnie could give Houdini a run for his money as she is a practicing escape artist. She climbs out of her kennel and could easily climb over metal fencing. She also has a keen ability to sneak out of doors and open doors with lever handles. Bonnie’s new family should be active and have a high (6ft.+) stockade fenced yard. Obedience training is a must. If you think this beautiful terrier mix might be the one for you, please come to meet her at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society. (203-227-4137 455 Post Road East, Westport)

I’m Sheba and I Have a New Family

chihuahua mix Sheba needs a home
Hi, I’m Sheba! Connecticut Humane Society

Sheba is a senior chihuahua mix.  She must be placed in a home with older children (12+). She gets along with other animals (both cats and dogs) and will make a loving addition to the right home. We think she’s just adorable. One visitor said she looks like a little sheep. Sheba does have a heart murmur. With this condition, she may live several more years (if she is showing no signs of problems) or the condition may worsen rapidly. Sheba’s new home must be understanding that she is a SPECIAL NEEDS adoption and has medical issues that may incur medical bills in the future.  If you are interested in Sheba, please come to meet her at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society.

American Staffordshire Terrier mix Tasha needs a new home
Hi, I’m Tasha! (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Westport Animal Control

Tasha is a young, brindle-colored American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was abandoned and found in a local parking lot. She has lots of energy, loves to play, and
would make a wonderful household pet. For more information about Tasha call Westport Animal Control at (203) 341-5076.

I’m Shana and I Have a New Family!

Shepherd mix Shana needs a home
Hi, I’m Shana! Connecticut Humane Society

Shana is a senior (10 year) shepherd mix. She arrived at our shelter with her buddy, Louie, who has since been adopted. The two were surrendered when, as the result of a divorce, the husband left them abandoned in the house. The wife returned to find them alone and uncared for. Shana’s a sweet girl who’s terribly sad here. She seems to get along just fine with other dogs, but we are unaware of her cat experience. Shana is fairly gentle, but a home with older children who can respect that fact that’s she’s a senior dog would be best. She’s active and playful and would make a great companion for anyone looking! Give Shana a second chance and come meet her at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society!

I’m Copper and I Found a New Family

Bassett Copper needs a new home
Hi, I’m Copper! Connecticut Humane Society

Copper is a pudgy bassett who needs a new home! He came in with his buddy, Gretchen (adopted), but now he’s on his own and in search of a new family. He’s a goofy guy who must be placed in an adult home. He’s playful, but prefers to flip on his back and plead for a belly rub more than anything. Copper’s new home should be adults only. He lived with another dog, so probably would be fine living with a new dog. We are unsure of his cat experience. His new home should also be prepared to put Copper on a diet to help reduce his weight and give him a long and healthy life!  Come meet Copper at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society!

I’m Tucker and I Have a Family Now

Bloodhound mix Tucker needs a new home
Hi, I’m Tucker! Connecticut Humane Society

Tucker is a bear of a dog! This big bloodhound mix is a wonderful boy who walks beautifully on a leash with a gentle leader or easy walk harness. He’s very large and must be placed in a home with a yard or a frequent walker. We believe Tucker gets along with dogs, but should be placed in a cat-free home. Tucker would best be placed in a home with older children (that he can’t knock down!) and parents who will help him burn up some of that energy! He knows basic commands and will likely excel with an owner who wants to teach their dog new tricks. After all … it’s never too late! Come meet Tucker at the Westport branch of the CT Humane Society!
