Ruby Has Found a Home

Ruby
RUBY has been adopted.  She is a 1-year-old sweet and gentle bully breed mix and is terrific with adults, children, dogs and cats and is a real love.  We will never understand the thinking behind the surrender of this gem of a dog but we are so glad she is safe and in her new home.  For additional videos and photos of Ruby, please visit http://www.facebook.com/westportwasa.

Decker has been adopted

Decker
Decker is a 6 1/2-month-old mixed breed (Irish terrier?) pup that is wonderful with people of all ages, dogs and cats.  Rescued from a local CT pound, he made sure WASA representatives did not leave without adopting him by practically crawling inside our coats.  He is an active boy that would do best with a fenced-in yard and another active canine buddy to play with throughout the day.  For additional information about Decker, please call 203-557-0361 or send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  To complete an adoption application, please visit www.westportwasa.org and click on Adopt to bring up the online application.  For more photos and videos of Decker, please visit our facebook at www.facebook.com/westportwasa.Decker

Sparkie Found A Forever Family!

Sparkie
Sparkie. Westport Animal Control

Sparkie Has been adopted. He’s approximately 3 to 4 years of age, and we believe he is an American bulldog-pointer mix.  He wants to meet everyone and be the center of attention at Westport Animal Control (203-341-5076, Elaine Road, Westport, CT).  He walks well on a leash.  Actually, he prances well on a leash.  He’s a happy boy that will make someone very happy if they adopt him.  He has received his necessary vet care courtesy of WASA.

Sammy Was Adopted!

Sammy
Sammy has been adopted.  Purchased by a local young couple with too much going on in their lives to appropriately care for a puppy, Sammy has been taken into the WASA foster program.  Sammy is a smart pup that is quickly learning the ropes of housebreaking.  He LOVES other dogs, people of all ages and, apparently, cats too. He loves to cuddle! Molly Found Forever Home

Molly
Molly2
Molly is our resident LBD (little black dog). She’s a terrier mix, at 2 years old she’s around 11 pounds. Molly loves to play and especially loves to chew on her nylabone. Save Our Strays took her from a local shelter in August of 2015 in hopes to find her a forever home – and we’re stumped as to why she hasn’t been adopted yet. She’s great with children, other dogs and fine with cats. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines as well. Seeing that she’s a LBD, she doesn’t photograph really well, but you can take our word for it – she’s ADORABLE. We feel this may be why she has been looked over. Come give our special girl a chance!

Spaghetti Has Found His Forever Family

Spaghetti
Save Our Strays Spaghetti

Spaghetti was found roaming in CT and ended up in a local shelter back in August. I found him there and just couldn’t leave him behind – he was so scared. He was pretty disinterested in humans when we first brought him to Save Our Strays. After he realized we were trustworthy he warmed right up! He likes to hop on our laps and REALLY likes his toys. A cat/small child free household would be best for our special boy. He has tons of energy and would love an active home. Please consider coming in to meet him! He is a 1-2 year old Yorkie/Silky mix.

Buttons has been Adopted again

Buttons
Butons. Save Our Strays

Buttons has been adopted again! She is a 4-5 year old Shih Tzu mix who was with our rescue for some time but was adopted by a wonderful family. Due to progressing human health issues she came back to stay with us a few months ago until her forever is found. She’s a sweet dog who loves being held like a baby, although she does have trust issues with men initially. Unfortunately she can come across as fearful at first, but once she knows she can trust you, she’s nothing but love! Patience is key when it comes to men, but a man-free household would be great as well! We know the right family is out there, we’re hoping they come along soon!  To Find more information about adopting Buttons, visit Save Our Strays or call 203-255-0514.

Blue has found a Forever Home

Bluesheart
Blue is a 2-year-old bully beauty with a big heart that comes to Westport Animal Control upon the death of her Westport pet parent.  Originally adopted from Westport Animal Control after Blue appeared in his yard as a stray, the two were devoted to each other.  Blue has received excellent training with dog trainer Susie Collins and is very special to WASA volunteers who enjoy walking her and giving her lots of love and attention.  We hope to find her a forever home very soon.  While she greatly enjoys the company of the dogs at Westport Animal Control, she can be initially reactive/selective about new dogs.  She does love people!  For additional information about Blue, please send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call WASA at (203)557-0361.  For additional videos and photos of blue, please visit our website at www.westportwasa.org or by checking out our FB page:  www.facebook.com/westportwasa. Samantha was Adopted

Samantha
Samantha has been with Save Our Strays since July of 2015. She was left at a local shelter one day when her family decided they were going to trade her in for a younger model. At around 8 years old this girl still has more than half her life to live! She’s the sweetest thing, a bit shy at first but loves to be pet and will roll on her back for belly rubs once she realizes you’re trustworthy. She is a beautiful black and white Domestic Short Hair cat with big green eyes – and – get this – she’s mute. She barely makes a sound. She is in excellent health and really, truly deserves the best home.
