Alaska Has Been Adopted

Alaska
Alaska. Westport Animal Control

Alaska is a 3-year-old powder puff Chinese crested mix rescued from a hoarding/back yard breeding situation in CT.  He is a darling and affectionate little guy.  Coming from years spent in a basement and a crate, he is doing VERY well.  He enjoys the company of other dogs, eating good food and napping on comfy pillows.  He is being fostered in the home of a WASA volunteer.  The smile in the photo is a result of being groomed and feeling so much better!  We feel he would do best in a relatively quiet environment with older children.

Penny Was Adopted

Penny
Penny. Little Black Dog Rescue

Penny is a 14 lb Terrier mix who is a chunky monkey. She was found by a good Samaritan on the side of the road with cherry eye and malnourished. Her savior nursed her back to health and she had the eye surgery she needed and headed up North!

She loves to cuddle and to be held but will not hesitate to take a bone from a dog three times her size. Penny is sassy and playful and would make any family happy!

Zachary Found A Home

Zachary
Zachary. Little Black Dog Rescue

Zachary is almost 6 months old and now has his forever home!

He was rescued by a local woman who couldn’t stand to see him euthanized in a Manhattan shelter and scooped him up to safety.

He was in bad shape and needed a lot of care. Thanks to his fairy dog-mother, Zachary is a playful, happy Shepherd / Border Collie who is great on the leash and crate-trained.

Portia Has A New Owner

Portia
Portia. Little Black Dog Rescue

Portia is a loving 8 year old Lab/terrier mix whose owner is dying and can no longer care for her. She has been tossed around from one house to the next and finally a kind woman in Fairfield took her in to give her a warm bed. She can’t speak highly enough about Portia and how loving, sweet and still playful she is. Portia is fine with cats and kids and now has a forever home. She was helped by Little Black Dog Rescue.

Sweet Belle Has Found A Home

Belle
Belle. Little Black Dog Rescue

Belle couldn’t be a sweeter girl!  A petite Flat-Coated Retriever and maybe Border Collie, she loves to cuddle and loves to be loved.

She was tied up for the first part of her life (she is 18 months now) but her silky hair has grown back where it was once bare neck skin. She is shy at first and needs time to trust, but once she does her heart is yours. She loves the park and swimming, chasing birds and is great off-leash. She is a very special girl.

Dolce and Oscar Have Been Adopted

WestportNow.com Image
Oscar (7 years) and Dolce (10 years) are two adorable Papillons that have been adopted.  They are very affectionate, sweet and quite handsome little fellows.
They are active (love to go on walks), housebroken and you don’t have to ask them twice to “come to the table” for meal time.  Because “the boys” are quite bonded they will need to be adopted together.

Big Lionel Has Found A Home

Lionel
Lionel. Westport Animal Control

Lionel has been adopted. The sweetest, gentlest dogs don’t always fit in your lap, and we have the dog to prove it!  Lionel is a 120-pound mastiff-pit mix that lost his home when his Connecticut family lost theirs.  He is very affectionate, and we hope we can find him a home soon as he misses his family tremendously.  According to his previous owners, he is good with children and other dogs.  He is very housebroken, neutered and up to date on his vet care.  We love this big galumph, especially when he drinks water.  He sticks his whole face in the bowl and comes out smiling with his face dripping.

Marvelous Max has been Adopted

Max, formerly at Westport Animal Control, was taken into the WASA foster program after a wonderful Siberian Husky knowledgeable family was found in Weston, CT.  He learned manners, ran and exercised and reclaimed his husky joy.  Marvelous Max is approximately 6-years-old and is nothing short of divine.  He has a wonderful personality and is very friendly and well trained.  He is a big strong boy that loves to go for long walks.  He also LOVES to be petted. And now, Max has found a home.

Bat has Found a New Home

Bat
Meet Bat. Westport Animal Control

Bat has been adopted.  He is a 6 to 8-year-old chihuahua mix rescued from a CT animal control facility that is now being fostered by a WASA volunteer.  Life had not been good to this little guy when he was kicked to the curb.  He was very thin, flea-infested and dehydrated, but very forgiving and his spirit not broken.  He is enjoying the good life now with good food, exercise, play time with other dogs. He has turned into one handsome little pup.  He loves walks and chasing the tennis ball (very funny), he is constantly presenting his foster with photo opportunities because of his comical nature.  Bat would do best in an adult home or a home with older children that will give him space until he is comfortable.  He is good with other dogs if they are not in his face constantly.  Bat is neutered, up to date on his vet care and just had his teeth cleaned.  For additional information about Bat, please send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 203-557-0361.  To complete an application, please visit www.westportwasa.org and click on Adopt to bring up the online application.
