An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 9 Ellery Lane, off Prospect Road, is in process. As a seller, a lengthy market time can truly hurt your bottom line. As a buyer, having this knowledge can often help you get a better price on a particular home.

Reviewing the town’s averages, the days on market have been right around four months. However, the average cumulative market time is seven months.

Bear in mind that these homes are still “active” on the market, and have not yet taken a deposit.

“While we will be submitting our results of the planning to the state, they have no particular say or oversight on what we do and how we go about the plan,” said Marpe.

He said he was in the process of establishing a steering committee, “and it will be representative of the Saugatuck area.”
