The house at 35 Elm St. is among nine winners of the Westport Historic District Commission (HDC) 2016 Preservation Awards to be presented in a Town Hall ceremony on Monday at 7 p.m. The HDC said the award will be presented to Chris Moran, Moran Construction Management. Known as the Queen Anne style Kemper-Gunn House, circa 1885, the structure was relocated from 35 Church St. in 2014. The HDC cited the owners for its “adaptive re-use and restoration. A link to the historic center of Westport, it was shifted across the street, sensitively renovated and endowed with a new purpose.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
