‘Political Ties’ at Pop’Tart Gallery

Westport artist Miggs Burroughs tonight shows off his lenticular work “Political Ties” at the opening reception of a popup art gallety Pop’Tart at 1 Main St. Burroughs provided this explanation of the work: “it was done about 14 years ago as a reaction to the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. The model is my son dressed in a shirt and red tie (who knew red ties would be worn by a president) and the image changes with the man in the chair bound by rope and blindfolded with his own tie. I only showed it once when I did it but now it seems to have taken on more significance.” The gallery is open this weekend with 5-7 p.m. receptions.
