Those who like to run at election time have a new way to participate –- a Sherwood Island State Park footrace called Run4Office5K on Sunday, Nov. 6, two days before the November election.

Organizer Jim Keenan, the man behind the Chowdafest and newer Great Mac n’ Cheese & Chili Challenge -– to be held after the run -– called it a “uniquely fun footrace.”

He said unlike many footraces, runners choose their own bibs. “They can run for their party, their beliefs, even none of the above,” he said in an announcement.

“The race will be used to predict the outcome of the presidential race that follows just two days later by averaging the times of each bib group. It’s a good of a predictor as any.”
