The home, belonging to Leslie Cohen with 100 feet of private beach on Hillspoint Road, is on the market for $6.2 million.
“The homeowner spent years imagining what life might be like in this Connecticut waterfront home before she had a chance to purchase, expand and decorate it in a classic contemporary style,” the story said.
The WSJ said Cohen had her eye on the property for almost eight years before she was able to purchase it in 2008 for $3.36 million, according to public records. It said she had lived in Westport for several years but never near the water.
The home’s waterfront location, gardens and position on a hill appealed to her, the WSJ said.“The sun was always pouring on it,” she said. “I could really envision a lifestyle in this home.”
The feature, accompanied by 16 photos, said Cohen is a designer and developer who, since 2000, has lived in and developed five of her own homes in addition to work done for clients.
She previously worked in the financial industry for 20 years and started a small vintage jewelry business before diving into home design, the WSJ said.
