She will be featured in the forthoming edition of the magazine, an announcement said.

With more than 50 years of practical experience as an artist, Chernow began her career at the age of 22.  Founding her art business as a way to promote and sell her artwork, Chernow’s website includes more than 300 print images of her work.

They are all based on specific impressions related to movies from the 1930s and ‘40s and refer to actual films, studio publicity material, fan magazines, and other memorabilia.

Although Chernow is a primarily a painter, she draws regularly, and the material on her website focuses solely on her printmaking skills.

“I create works in all media, do appraisals, teach, lecture, consult about collecting art, and host exhibitions,” said Chernow, who admits to have a love for all types of art.

Since 1994, Chernow has hosted more than 30 one-person exhibition shows—another is scheduled in January at the Westport Arts Center—has been featured in nearly 50 group shows, and has had her work displayed in nearly 50 public collections, both in the United States and internationally.

Venues have included The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University Art Collection, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco.  Her work is represented by numerous galleries, nationally and internationally.

Chernow is the subject of the film “Art is the Permanent Solution” by art filmmaker Manny Kirchheimer, is the subject of a documentary, “Years in the Making,” by filmmaker Martin West, and is also in a documentary about her own life and work, called “Reel to Real,” also by West.

She is also serving as the art director of the film “A Gathering of Glory” by West. She holds a B.A. in art rducation and an M.A. in art, both from New York University.
