WestportNow Teardown of the Day: 9 Scot Alan Lane

An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 9 Scot Alan Lane, off Park Lane, is in process. Built in 1960, the one-story split has 1,510-square feet, is situated on a .30-acre property and last changed ownership, according to Town Assessor records, in 1998 for $436,000. The owner said, “We are the parents of two children, in fifth and ninth grade. We’ve outgrown the house after living here for 17 years and will rebuild our new house on this same site. It will not be a McMansion.” Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission.
