What a beautiful, distinctive looking house. A pity that it’s most likely going to be replaced by a generic monster piece of construction.
Janet Beasley
What is wrong with everyone in Westport? This house is beautiful….a real New England charmer. Again, another piece of true style and beauty being destroyed in one of the most beautiful towns in Connecticut. How many McMansions/McUgly’s does Westport need? Its pithetic.
Rhoda Berke
Why does anyone find it necessary to tear down a 3,000+ square foot house, which is already almost twice the size of many other homes? Not to mention to character of thisparticular house.
Disappointing!
Only when the town is known as “Historical Westport” when tear downs are the exception rather then the rule will there be a slow down in the destruction of valuable buildings.
Remember, for the most part the speculative tear downs are by people/builders out to maximize their investment but bankrupts us as a town of the features that attract home buyers in the first place.
