WestportNow Teardown of the Day: 7 North Ave.

An application for a permit to demolish the barn at Westport’s 7 North Ave., near Long Lots Road, is in process. Built in 1900, the barn has been deemed by town building officials as structurally unsafe for occupancy.  A new timber frame barn will be erected in its place. The old barn timbers will be recycled to the extent possible and the existing house will be restored, according to builder Rick Benson.
