This is an 18th-century house that was remodeled in the mid 19th century and again in the early 20th century (with Colonial Revival additions and features such as the Connecticut Valley split pediment entrance on the front elevation).
Westport Now: Please correct the misinformation regarding the dating of this house so that Westporters get the facts. One would hope that with the right information, Westporters will take action to prevent the loss of this important house. This is another instance where a developer could make a reasonable profit by restoring and re-selling the house, but instead wants to do the quick and dirty in order to maximize (and speed up) his profits.
Westport citizens: Wake up, you can stop this kind of careless destruction!!!
