An application for a permit to demolish the structures at Westport’s 54 Wilton Road is in process. Built in 1960, the two-story commercial office building, formerly home of Save the Children, has 26,435-square feet, is situated on a 2.59-acre property and changed ownership in November 2013 for $11,925,000. Because the structures were built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission. According to David Waldman, a principal owner, the site will be replaced by a 55,000-square foot, three-story residential building comprised of 16 luxury condominiums.
