An application is in process to acquire a permit to demolish the house at 53 Sturges Highway on the Westport-Fairfield line. Built in 1910, the 1 3/4-story conventional house has 1,533 square feet, is situated on a 1.2-acre lot and changed ownership in February for $740,000.  Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Historic District Commission.
