WestportNow Teardown of the Day: 500 Main St.

An application for a permit to demolish the building at Westport’s 500 Main St. is in process. Built in 1900, the one-story commercial structure, formerly occupied by Daybreak Nurseries (see WestportNow April 30, 2104), has 3,211 square feet, is situated on a 1.56-acre property and changed ownership this month for $1,350,000, which includes the property recorded as 498 Main St. Because the structure was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission.
