WestportNow Teardown of the Day: 378 Riverside Ave.

WestportNow.com Image
An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 378 Riverside Ave., near Raymond Place, is in process. Built in 1900, the two-story colonial has 1,604 square feet, is situated on a .38-acre property and changed ownership in July 2012 for $450,000. Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

  1. Watch out! Another McMasion coming to your neighborhood soon! I honestly am not sure what is really left of much of the “history” from what was once the quaint New England artist town. Instead of “Restore America” it seems this town is filled with destroy America and even the environment.

  2. Anyone paying attention understands that this was demolition by neglect.  In areas where there are actually strong zoning controls, developers know this is still the easiest route to getting their applications approved.
