When will this madness stop? This house is a perfect example of what houses SHOULD look like in the beach area. I hope it’s status as a part of the Compo-Owenoke Historic District will save it from being destroyed.
This is on the agenda for the Historic District Commission (HDC) meeting of Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in Town Hall, Room 309 at 7:00 p.m. If you care about the destruction of this town’s historic resources and are troubled by what seems to be our desire to pave over our less than aristocratic past, plan on attending this meeting and see some good people doing important work.
This is the agenda item as listed in the publc notice:
2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to request an extension of delay for a demolition permit application at 29 Compo Beach Road ca. 1923 identified on the Historic Resources Inventory as a contributing property in the Compo/Owenoke Historic District.
