An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 250 Hillspoint Road, in the Compo Beach area, is in process. Built in 1949, the one-story raised ranch has 1,245 square feet and is situated on a ,38-acre water view property. Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

FWIW, it transacted December 5th for $2,050,000.
When my dad (Hardie Gramatky) painted this house in 1974, it was red and white. Here’s what this teardown looked like 37 years ago!

Coincidentally, the Westport Historical Society is having a fundraiser selling giclees of Westport scenes done by my father (a nationally acclaimed watercolorist) and one can search for “Westport” on the CaliforniaWatercolor.com site to see all the 38 local paintings. And put in “WHS” code to get a 10% discount. One can go into the Remarkable Gift Shop at the WHS to see the giclees.
At least this house and “House on Gorham Island” and happy crowds at Compo and the Green’s Farms station are captured forever in watercolor.
