WestportNow Teardown of the Day: 19 Vani Court

An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 19 Vani Court, off Compo Road South, is in process. Built in 1945, the 1-1/4-story cape has 1,868 square feet, is situated on a .34-acre property and last changed ownership, according to Town Assessor records, in August 2001 for $395,000. The house incurred fire damage in June 2014 (see WestportNow June 23, 2014) Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission.
