An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 121 Imperial Ave. is in process. Built in 1939, the one-story ranch has 1,472 square feet and is situated on a .56-acre property. Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Beautiful house. It looks like it has real character. I wonder why it must be torn down. I bet it can be modernized and enlarged without being destroyed and put into a landfill.
Sad. Such great stone work…
Why does everything w/ character have to be destroyed and replaced w/ cookie cutter mansions. In the long run, Westport’s the loser.
Tearing down something unique to build something predictable means everyone loses.
Soon there will be little charm left…..
