Westporters Among Winning Synchronized Skaters

Three Westport skaters were part of the silver medal-winning Sprites Synchronized Skating team Saturday at the Terry Conners Open in Stamford. Samantha Paris, 9 (bottom row, 1st l), twin Sabrina (3rd row, 1st l), and Charlotte Carter, 11, (third row, 1st r) began their skating careers at the P.A.L. Ice Rink at Longshore Club Park. Samantha and Sabrina are fourth graders at Long Lots Elementary School while Charlotte is in the sixth grade at Bedford Middle School. According to United States Figure Skating Association, synchronized skating is one of the fastest-growing ice sports, and there is momentum to add it to the 2018 Olympic Games.
