“I’m so thrilled and honored and excited,” the Green’s Farms Elementary School teacher said in an interview with MLB.com. “It made me cry to watch it. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
Produced with the help from her brother Russell Sherman, the video captures the key moments from the year that saw the New York Yankees triumph in the 2009 World Series to win their 27th championship.
“When we’re sitting in the stands as parents, there’s such a mix of emotions, highs and lows, the thrill of watching your kid coming around third and tearing for home,” said Propp, the mother of two, including a 12-year-old baseball player.
“It’s so close to Matsui coming around third and heading home on that walk-off hit, with that anticipation of coming home and everyone watching and feeling that excitement.”
“Being a year-in-review thing, really it brings back every season. It gets you psyched for next spring already and makes you want to get tickets for next year.”
“Running Home” originally was released in December 2008 on Propp’s CD “Play.” The CD is available at SuzanneShermanPropp.com, the Westport branch of Barnes and Noble and via CD Baby and iTunes.

Second grade students at Green’s Farms, along with Propp and fellow teacher Cheryl Buck, wrote the song “In Wonderful Westport” as part of their social studies unit on “communities.” (See WestportNow May 26, 2009)
