Jim Randel: honored by writers. Contributed photoJim Randel, a Westport author, attorney and real estate investor, has won first prize in a national book competition sponsored by an organization of journalists and professionals who follow business, real estate and finance.
The gold award of the National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE), was presented to Randel at a Washington, D.C. ceremony for his book “The Skinny on the Housing Crisis.”
It was the first book published by Randel’s RAND Publishing through its imprint, “The Skinny On,” which Randel developed.
One of the NAREE book award judges wrote about Randel’s book: “Wow. What a concept, having stick people tell the story of one of the beefiest, multifaceted, complex and confusing bits of recent economic history in terms everyone can understand.”
He added, “I wish I had this on my desk when I was editing all those stories about the impact of the collapse of the real estate market. Original. Informative. Easy to read. And funny to boot…. ”
