Sponsored by the Westport Downtown Merchants Association (WDMA), it will feature more than 18 local and regional breweries.

Westport culinary favorites Kawa Ni and Rothbard Ale + Larder will serve up their favorites and music will be courtesy of Easton-based duo Amber Anchor.

Not to be left out, there will be a designated kids and family area, according to organizers.

It will feature face painting, and fall crafts provided by the Artist Collective of Westport, Westport Historical Society, the Westport Library and Wakeman Town Farm. Earthplace will also participate with a live animal exhibit.

There will also be a pop-up artisan market organized by the Westport Farmers Market, and a classic car rally and exhibition by the Small Car Company of Westport.

Westoberfest family activities open at 1 p.m. and are free to the public. The craft tasting area opens at 2 p.m. and requires a ticket for entry. The festival closes at 5 p.m.

“Westoberfest will be a true collaboration of a number of town groups and businesses, each providing something unique to surprise and delight those who attend,” said Randy Herbertson, WDMA president.

“We believe this event will provide another reminder to our region why it is great to shop, dine and enjoy in downtown Westport.”

Visitors to Westoberfest can also enjoy Saugatuck StoryFest, happening the same weekend around downtown and on Jesup Green.

Saugatuck StoryFest is a three-day celebration of writing that combines a townwide multidisciplinary literary festival with a craft-focused, workshop-based writers conference.

It is a partnership between the Westport Library and the Westport Public Schools. For more information on StoryFest visit westportlibrary.org

Westoberfest is a rain or shine event, and there is an indoor contingency plan in place in case of inclement weather.
