Watchful Eye as Westport Hosts Soccer Tourney

More than 130 soccer teams from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts met at Staples High School today for the 33rd annual Westport Invitational Soccer Tournament, according to Wes Malowitz (above), president of the Westport Soccer Association. He said 50 girls teams competed in more than 70 games today and about 55-60 boys teams will compete on Sunday. The matches are being held both indoors and outdoors. Malowitz said it is the largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds earmarked for the Coleman Brothers Foundation. He said that a championship game is played in each of four age groups—U11, U12, U13, and U 14-16. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
