Tommy Ghianuly, 83, Barber to Generations of Westporters

UPDATE Thomas G. Ghianuly, better known to generations of Westport customers at his Compo Barber Shop, 387 Post Road East, as Tommy, died today at his Bridgeport home after a brief illness. He was 83. In 2011, dozens of his customers—a Who’s Who of Westporters—honored him at the Birchwood Country Club with a surprise party on the 50th anniversary of his business.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. directly at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Road, Easton.
