OH PLEASE, $1 million??? Sure hope there’s an oil well or gold mine on that property!!!
$1m teardowns seem to be becoming routine in Westport. Amazing. My 1930s Westport colonial, while well maintained, is far from “bling bling.” Apparently, even as a teardown, it’s suddenly become a $1m house. I suppose that’s good for me, but it somehow makes me sad for Westport and any kind of diversity we might hope to have here.
I Completly agree with “old westporter” $1M teardowns are a sad reality right now.. Great for those who may sell at some point, and their houses aren’t up to today’s standards(which around here are set TOO HIGH!) My concern is… How far will this go? will it stop at some point. I fear that being in the median income as my family is, won’t afford me to continue to live in this town in the future. I’m not talking about mortgages either.. I’m talking Taxes!! They can only go up from here.
A million dollar teardown? Small potatoes after the announced $14 million teardown on Beachside Aveneu. Of course that’s the exception. But there’s a $1.4 million teardown on Westway Road.
What kills me is when people take a ranch put in $300,000 to renovate and it’s still a tear down for someone else.
