Touted as a date night on the cusp of Valentine’s Day, another installment of the dinner and concert series “Supper & Soul” is set for Saturday night, Feb. 9, at Westport’s Seabury Center, the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce (WWCC) announced.
For the cost of $75 per ticket, participants get a three-course meal at one of eight downtown restaurants, see a David Wax Museum band concert at the Seabury Center and return to any of the same restaurants for happy hour-priced drinks, said Matthew Mandell, WWCC executive director.
David Wax Museum is a husband and wife band offering a mix of rock, folk and Americana. The group has played at around the country, including the main stage at the Newport Folk Festival.
“This is a great band and perfect for the venue,” said Mandell. “They’re energetic, engrossing and will call to your soul.”
Mandell said “Supper & Soul” has developed into “a true series.”
“We started with rock, then blues, followed by country,” he said. “Now we are going Americana, and again, it all happens right in downtown Westport; you get to eat a great meal, be professionally entertained and can even have a night cap.
“This is a Valentine’s date night in a bottle, or simply a chance to hang with friends and see a great show,” he added.
Participating restaurants include: 190 Main, Amis, Rothbard, Spotted Horse, Tavern on Main, Jesup Hall, Matsu Sushi, and Wafu. Mandell said each is within two blocks of the Seabury Center on Church Lane.
“What a great promotion for the area,” said Marc Murphy, the manager of The Spotted Horse. “We had a great night with the prior events; we look forward to this next one as well.”
Dinner seating begins at 6 p.m., and the concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available bought online through the WWCC, and reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis through the Chamber, Mandell said. Drinks and tips are not included in the price of the ticket.
The Seabury Center is a 196-year-old, adaptively reused, former church, which is owned by Christ and Holy Trinity Church.
