  1. Hey maybe the Fairfield County Bank could stop paving the field at the corner of Compo Road and Post Road and move into this building and leave that corner as one of the few remaining open spaces in town. Seems like it might save a couple million. But then I’m no banker.

  2. Better yet, show up at the ZBA hearing to oppose the variance. The only hardship to the bank is financial and that’s not grounds for granting a zoning variance

  3. There is a ZBA hearing at 7:30 Tuesday, September 9th where the Fairfield County Bank is looking for a variance to convert crawl space into a Storage and break room. Perhaps a few of us could show up and suggest that taking over the TD Banknorth space.

  4. Dick,
    Thanks for sharing this.

    Attention Fairfield County Bank:

Plenty of other locations in Westport that are already paved over available for your new branch.  Wouldn’t it be nice to save on the construction costs? And wouldn’t your bank look like a hero for preserving open space?

  5. DENIED:      #6745 –  20 Compo Road South,  John Fallon/Fairfield County Bank Corp,:  Variance of Sec. 24-8.2 (floor area exceeds 25% floor area ratio), Sec. 24-11 (parking and loading), Sec. 34-5 (for parking requirements); To permit conversion of 1,000 square feet of crawl space into a cellar for use as storage and break room in a GBD/Res.
