String Quartet at Arts Center

The Calidore String Quartet, one of the most exciting of the younger string quartets, delighted the audience tonight at the Westport Arts Center. The concert was dedicated to Howard J. Aibel, who served as a generous sponsor for many of Westport Arts Center concerts over the years. He died March 9 from complications from pneumonia at age 88. The Calidore performed a program including Mozart, Shastakovich and Mendelssohn with the “Handmade: Women Reshaping Contemporary Art” exhibition serving as the backdrop.  The next concert will be Simon Mulligan with the Simon Mulligan Trio on May 11.
