‘Stay at Home & Soul’ Replaces ‘Supper & Soul’

The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce and the Westport Library announced today that their popular Supper & Soul downtown dinner and concert series will be reformatted and embrace social distancing on Friday, May 15.

The Stay Home & Soul takeout dinner and concert evening will include curbside pickup dinners from Westport restaurants and an online live stream concert by the folk and roots rock band David Wax Museum.

“People are craving something to do, something different. This is fun, community oriented, yet still safe,” said Matthew Mandell, executive director of the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce.

David Wax Museum, who headlined Supper & Soul a year ago, returns as the husband and wife duo who will play live via stream for a Westport-only audience. “The screen may be small, but the music is still big,” said Mandell.

“This socially distant version of a known and popular event, supports our local restaurants, aids struggling musicians who cannot otherwise tour and gives everyone something to look forward to and enjoy.”

For a single price of $35 per person, ticket buyers will receive a two-course dinner available for curbside pickup from their choice of 15 chamber-member restaurants and access to the show, an announcement said.

Concert only tickets are available for $11 with $1 of every ticket sold donated to the Gillespie food pantry to aid those who are hungry during this crisis.

The participating restaurants are: Dunvilles, Jesup Hall, Kawa Ni, Match Burger Lobster, Pane e Bene, Pearl at Longshore, Rive Bistro, Romanacci Xpress, Tarrantino, The Boathouse, The Whelk, Viva Zapata, Walrus Alley (formerly Rothbard) and Wafu.

“While the Library building may be closed, we are still open 24/7 through digital formats,” stated Bill Harmer, executive director of the Westport Library.

“We’re all looking forward to a terrific evening and while we’ll miss seeing everyone, we’re delighted to bring this virtual evening of entertainment to the community.”

This will mark the Chamber’s eighth version of Supper & Soul and the third in collaboration with the Library.
