State Comptroller Kevin Lembo told the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club today that Connecticut “must create stability and predictability moving forward to get us out of the doldrums.” Mentioned as a possible 2018 Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Lembo said post-employment obligations are “eating our lunch” and that “prior governors did not negotiate effectively on behalf of the residents of Connecticut, I can’t say it any other way.” He lauded Connecticut as being one of the most “transparent states” when it comes to reporting what is going on at the state level, to the point that even payroll information can be requested by the public.
