Staples Softball Edges Fairfield Warde 3-2

Players pause for the National Anthem tonight at Little League Night at Green’s Farms Elementary School as the Staples Varsity softball team squared off against Fairfield Warde. The up and coming players and their families were treated to the Wrecker’s best win of the season with a come-from-behind victory over their next town rivals 3-2 with a two out bottom of the seventh walk off suicide squeeze. Junior Emma Moscovitz drove in the tying run with two outs and two on. Then winning pitcher senior captain Nicki Bukovsky bunted as junior Chrissy McCarthy was already streaking for home on a gutsy call made by coach Sara Holland.
