A number of spring sports teams at Westport’s Staples High School are in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) tournaments this week and WWPT, the Staples student-run radio station at 90.3 FM, will be there.
If the weather permits, here is the anticipated broadcast schedule:
Today: FCIAC volleyball semifinals – Ridgefield at Staples 4 p.m.
Thursday: FCIAC baseball semifinals – Staples at Trumbull 8 p.m.
Friday: FCIAC volleyball championships – If Staples wins today. If both favored teams win today, Staples will play Fairfield Co-op in the finals.
They met earlier this month in a dramatic five game match that is currently airing—with expert commentary by John Shepro—at 10 p.m. on cable channel 78. The game will be played in Darien at a time to be announced.
Saturday: FCIAC baseball championships – Noon at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. If successful over Trumbull on Thursday, Staples will go on to try to repeat as FCIAC tournament champions.
