Staples Hockey Victorious in ‘Showdown at the Shore’

It was billed as the “Showdown at the Shore,” and when it was over at the P.A.L. ice rink at Westport’s Longshore Club Park tonight the combined Staples/Weston/Shelton ice hockey team had defeated Norwich Free Academy 5-1 in a non-conference game. According to Police Capt. Sam Arciola, P.A.L. president, “This is the first regular season hockey game the Staples Wreckers have ever played in an outdoor setting.” The Wreckers team improved to 4-2 on the season.
