Staples Girls Field Hockey Advances

Staples Girls Field Hockey today had their second shutout in the CIAC state tourney with a 1-0 quarter final victory over Norwalk at Staples. Today’s match was largely a defensive battle, with the only score in the game by sophomore Julia DiConza coming with less than two minutes remaining in the first half. The victory sets up a opportunity for the Wreckers to avenge their FCIAC conference final loss to Darien in the semifinals next week.
