Staples Field Hockey Again CIAC Champs

The Staples Field Hockey team today wrapped up its fourth consecutive state CIAC Class L championship by defeating Darien 4-2 at Wethersfield. It was an especially gratifying win coming two weeks after both teams battled to a tie in the FCIAC finals with both declared co-champions. Both teams today scored early with the Wreckers taking a 3-2 lead at halftime and tacking on an insurance goal in the second half.  (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
