The Staples High School Music Department announced today that tickets are now on sale for “Down Under Cabaret,” the fundraiser for the Orphenians’ July trip to Sydney, Australia.
The Orphenians have been invited to study with and perform under the Grammy Award-winning conductor, Craig Hella Johnson, at the Sydney Opera House.
This musical evening on Monday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport includes special guest appearances by Tony award-winning Broadway star Kelli O’Hara and Staples Alum Adam Kaplan of Broadway’s “Newsies” and “A Bronx Tale.”
Tickets can be purchased on the http://www.staplesmusic.org website.
The “Down Under Cabaret” was created by Luke Rosenberg, SHS choral director, to ensure that all the Orphenians who wanted to go to Sydney must be able to attend even if they needed some financial assistance.
“We need to raise $40,000 of the total cost of $175,000,” he said.
If you cannot make the Cabaret and still want to help, Rosenberg asked supporters to visit is GoFundMe page at
