Staples Boys Soccer Tames Ridgefield Tigers

Staples soccer player Vaughan Sealey needed just three minutes to score against Ridgefield today. But the Wreckers took their foot off the gas, and the visiting Tigers drew even midway through the first half. The second half was all Staples, though. Goals by Mauricio Inglada, Nick DiMasi and Lefty Penderakis iced the 4-1 victory. The Wreckers, 7-2-3 on the season, now prepare for Saturday’s big Staples soccer 60th anniversary celebration. There’s a tailgate at 1 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match against Darien, and a 4 p.m. alumni pickup game. All former players, parents, friends and soccer fans are invited to Saturday’s festivities.
