Staples Boys Soccer Stuns St. Joseph

Graham Gudis (2) and Andres Marmelo (5) lead the celebration, after one of Gudis’s two goals today at Loeffler Field. The Wreckers gave up an early goal to St. Joseph, but roared back in the final eight minutes to win, 3-1. Gudis’ two strikes were sandwiched around a corner kick by Daniel Perez Elorza, that bounced in off the keeper. Staples, now 3-1-1, has three big matches next week. The Wreckers also host a fundraising car wash Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Christ & Holy Trinity Church parking lot off Elm Street. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Armelle Daniels for WestportNow.com
