Staples Boys Soccer Roars into FCIAC Tournament

Kenji Goto (above) has been a defensive spark for Staples’ boys soccer team this year. Daniel Perez Elorza netted the only goal, in the eighth minute, today as Staples beat Brien McMahon 1-0. It was the Wreckers’ second win in less than 24 hours, after a 4-0 shutout of Andrew Warde. The win qualifies Staples for the FCIAC tournament, which starts Friday. But first comes a Wednesday match against Harding, the Wreckers’ third in three days. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Kim Lake for WestportNow.com
