Staples Boys Soccer Roars Into FCIAC Playoffs

St. Joseph stunned Staples’ boys soccer team with an early goal today in Trumbull. But the Wreckers roared back, with two-goal performances by Nick DiMasi and Austin Sholes. The two have been on a hot streak recently, helping Staples to their 4-1 victory and a 10-2-4 final regular season record. That earns them a home game when the FCIAC playoffs begin Friday with Staples facing Greenwich at 3 p.m. Pictured: Nick DiMasi finishes his first goal today, ramming in a rebound from Lefty Penderakis.
