Staples Boys Soccer Homecoming Sees 1-0 Loss to Stamford

Among those at the Staples High School boys soccer homecoming today were (l-r) Neil Brickley, Fred Cantor, Coach Dan Woog, and Steve McCoy, all members of the class of 1971. In a wild battle of the top two teams in the FCIAC West, Stamford went on to nip Staples 1-0. The second half goal — when the Wreckers were a man down — came off a rebound. It was the first home loss of the season for the Wreckers, who are now 6-3-2. Staples next meets Darien Tuesday at home. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Lynn U. Miller for WestportNow.com
