A makeshift lineup came through big-time for the injury-plagued Wreckers.

Daniel Perez Elorza scored twice; Jack Scott, Andrew Puchala and Daniel Boyce added solo efforts, as the surging Westporters raised their record to 6-1-1.

Staples’ goals came off of set pieces, with numerous players crashing the box. Michael Reid ran midfield for the victors, with Yousef Shahin and Patrick Beusse providing solid support.

Noah Schwaeber made one superb save in goal. In front of him, Puchala, Charlie Leonard, Kenji Goto and James Lewis played lockdown defense.

The Wreckers face Trinity Catholic on Wednesday, then host Norwalk on Thursday in another tough FCIAC match. Both games are at 4 p.m.
