Staples Boys Cross Country State Class LL Runners Up

The Staples Boys Cross Country team placed second today at the CIAC Class LL championship at Wickham Park in Manchester. Staples was led by seniors Morgan Fierro, who finished third overall in 16:13 and Nick Taubenheim at 12th overall in 16:26, with both runners earning All State honors. Senior Teddy O’Kane placed 19 th (16:44), followed by George Lepska in 28th (16:59) and Zach Taubman in 40th (17:18) to round out the scoring positions. Juniors Dillon Harding and Max Sod also finished strong as the sixth and seventh runners for the team. The Staples Girls Cross country team came in ninth with Tori Greenberg placing 12th overall and earning All State honors. The runners now prepare for the State Open Championship scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1. The top six teams in that race advance to the New England Championship.
