Stamford Nips Staples Boys Soccer 1-0

The Staples boys soccer team faced plenty of adversity today against division-leading Stamford. They used field player Will Birch in goal, and were a man down for the final 23 minutes. Still, they took the Black Knights to the limit, falling 1-0 on a rebound goal with just 17 minutes to play. Birch (shown in the photo making a save) filled in superbly, aided by staunch defending from Chris Martenson, Ryan Fincher, Nick Ambrose and Gabe Baltierra.
