Splash Restaurant & Bar, which has been closed for two weeks for plumbing and electrical repairs, had been scheduled to reopen Tuesday but was still closed today.

A closed sign still greets customers who stop at the waterfront restaurant located in the Inn at Longshore.

“We still haven’t reopened,” said Teresa De Caro, sister of the owner. “The electrical repairs are taking longer that we expected.”

She did not say when she expects the work to be completed.

Splash is owned by Angelo De Caro, CEO of the De Caro Restaurant Group Splash and a former partner of Goldman Sachs, which also owns Baang Cafe and Bar, “an Asian East meet’s West fusion concept in Greenwich,” according to the company’s website.

On its website, Splash is described as a restaurant that “has rediscovered its American roots and deftly blends them with Asian accents.”

The fact that Splash has been closed sent ripples of concerns and confusion over the past two weeks among some patrons who had feared the waterfront restaurant on site since 1995 had shut down.

Teresa De Caro stressed that is not the case, and that maintenance and needed repairs have taken longer than planned.
