There’s a different kind of Friends of Sherwood Island fundraiser set for Sunday.
Called Shorefest on a Roll, it will take place from 4:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. with tickets purchased in advance.
Guests will take a drive through the park and pick up a fresh curbside lobster roll dinner, an announcement said.
“Guests will be treated to a rolling tour of the park accompanied by a podcast describing the history and fabulous features of the 236 acre gem – the oldest park in Connecticut, and a lobster roll-to-go feast,” it said.
Entertainment will include a field of whirligigs, exotic kites, disc golf exhibitions, several socially distanced musical performances and model plane flyovers at the park airfield all while cruising a loop at about 10 mph.
The only stop will be near the end of the tour to pick up their prepaid hot or cold lobster roll dinners safely and contact-free. The entire loop will take about 12 minutes.
