The Westport Library today reminded teens that the deadline for submissions to its 7th Annual Teen Photo Contest, which is open to Fairfield County sixth through twelfth graders, is Friday, Sept. 27.

Last year’s winner was Weston 11th grader Jolie Jeffrey-Craft for her photo “Untitled.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Photo by Jolie Jeffrey-Craft
Christine Timmons, exhibit curator, is asking teen shutterbugs and budding photographers to focus on snapshots that leave viewers thinking.
According to Timmons, this year’s theme is “Dot-Dot-Dot,” both an ellipsis and part of the library’s logo, which begs the viewer to seek more.
“The Library is asking teen photographers to submit photos that leave us with questions and make us want more,” Timmons said. There is a three photograph limit for each student.
Winners will be notified on Friday, Oct. 4, and there will be an opening reception for the exhibit on Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Brooks Place Gallery, an announcement said.
Contributors who submit high-resolution photos from their cellphones are asked to to choose “actual size.”
Those submitting from digital cameras are asked to choose “JPEG-Large” and set the image quality at FINE.
The contest is being judged by Westport professional photographer Pamela Einarsen.
